The luster is the shininess of the pearls.The higher the luster, the sharper the reflection of the pearl. |
| NACRE THICKNESS : |
The thicker the nacre, the smaller the nucleus : therefore,the higher the quality of pearl.How ever it is hard to test the thickness of the nacre only experts will be able to say.salt water pearl will have a nucleus implant thus,the thickness of nacre will normally be thiner than the fresh water pearls. |
| SHAPE: |
the spherical shaped pearls are most expensive,due to their rarity.most pearls arenot perfectly round because of uneven nacre. |
| SPOTTING: |
since pearls are naturally formed,it is narmal that a pearl may have some from of imperfection.of course,the fewer the spots tht a pearl has the higher the coast of the pearl. |
